Since the Grange predates the establishment of the IRS code for non-profit
corportation, it became necessary to seperate our "Grange" work from our
charitable and philanthropic activites. By doing so, we removed any questions
about the tax decductible status of donation made through the Foundation.
The Foundation has a Board of Directors, which currently is the same member as
the Executive Board of the California State Grange. They meet regularly to
transact Foundation business and there is a General meeting of the Foundation
during the Annual Session of the State Grange.
One of the oldest programs of the Foundation is it scholarship program. It
awards thousands of dollars annually to youth to pursue their educational
goals. These scholarships help young people make dreams a reality. |
