2007 Grange Convention Good of the Order Motion
From time to time, there arise in the various Subordinate Granges disputes which left unresolved may have a damaging affect on the harmony of the Order.
Move that the Good of the Order Committee, a standing committee of Subordinate Granges as prescribed by the Digest of Laws of the California State Grange have the purpose and authority to act expediently, impartially and justly to resolve disputes that arise in the Subordinate Granges, in obedience to the Oath of Obligation, and the Digest of Laws and/or Bylaws of the various degrees of the Order,
That regarding disputes that arise in the various Subordinate Granges, the Good of the Order Committee will have the purpose and authority to review, investigate, and deliberate, and will attempt to resolve the dispute amicably and for the good of the Order.
Failing to resolve the dispute, the Good of the Order Committee may make a written report and/or recommendations to the Master of the Subordinate Grange.
That any report and recommendations made by the Good of the Order Committee will be considered by the Subordinate Master with utmost regard for the good of the Order, and that the Subordinate Master shall takeappropriate action to resolve the dispute or eliminate the causes, for the good of the Order, in obedience to the Oath of Obligation, and or the Digest of Laws and/or Bylaws of the various degrees of the order.
