Mt. Hamilton Holds Fund Raising Party
by LuEllen Pettengell
The evening was a Mt. Hamilton Grange sponsored fund raiser that collected $1,600 for our Fort Bragg Grange septic system fiasco. It was an enchanting evening at the Mt. Hamilton Grange on Saturday night, May 21st. The evening started out with a delightful fare of Philippine cuisine. After our tummies were full, we slid over into the dance hall. The hall was decorated with tiny white lights, street lamps and the “sky” was filled with bouncing “northern lights’. The room felt like we were outdoors, under stars.
Milpitas Mayor and Granger Jose Esteves, Randy Marler of Fort Bragg Grange and Domingo Lomboy of Mt. Hamilton Grange.D.J. Noly Yamson provided an array of music to the delight of the dancers. As we watched the spectacular dancers whirl around the room we felt like we were in the audience of “Dancing with the Stars”. It was such a joy to watch the skill. The music was so enticing that we stepped out on to the floor a few times.
We are humbled by the generous donation presented to us by Master Domingo Lomboy on behalf of their Grange and a personal contribution by a Grange member. We want to thank all the officers, brothers and sisters of San Jose’s Mt. Hamilton Grange for their hard work, hospitality, fabulous evening and the wonderful gift to help us with our dilemma. Thank you from Randy Marler and LuEllen Pettengell on behalf of the Fort Bragg Grange #672.
We also want to acknowledge and thank the following Granges and individuals who have kindheartedly donated generously in our time of financial stress. Altogether, close to $16,000 has been contributed.
