by Cheri Bunker
Thermalito Grange has been busy for the past few months. We have taken in several new members, added Friday Night Bingo to our list of activities, held candidate forums for local elections, and mingled with elected State legislators.
Over the past couple of months, we have taken in four new members. They include George & Nancy Kirby, John Willis, and Machelle Conn.
On the first and third Friday nights, the Thermalito Grange hosts Bingo. We have already had a big winner, Delores Lawrence, who won $112.00 from the “ Hot Ball “ bingo. The next pot is building rapidly, it could be waiting for you!
Thermalito Grange initiates two new members. Machelle Conn (L) and John Willis (R) are swornin by Master Les Reynolds, while Master-elect
Rosemary Fielder looks on.
For a couple of years, Thermalito Grange has been hosting candidate forums. This allows the public the opportunity to ask questions of the candidates, and hear them answer questions from others. We held forums for the Feather River Parks & Recreation Dept. and the Oroville City Council & Mayor races.
Thermalito Grange member and California State Senator Doug LaMalfa was sworn into office on Dec. 6. Among his guests were Thermalito Grange members George & Nancy Kirby, and Butte Pomona Master and Oroville City Council member elect Cheri Bunker.
We held our election in November. New officers include: Master Rosemary Fielder, Overseer Les Reynolds, Lecturer Sherry Morehouse, Secretary Anna Whitfield., Treasurer Cheri Bunker, Gatekeeper Stu Shaner, Steward Charles Wilkerson, Asst. Steward George Kirby, Chaplain Liz Reynolds, Flora Nancy Kirby, Executive Committee members Bill Fox, Sherry Morehouse, & Liz Reynolds. They will be installed at the Butte County Granges Installation on January 23, 2011, officiated by CSG President Bob McFarland.
